Cardi B: Invasion of Privacy

#TuesdayThoughts #BardiGang

**takes deep breath**

Let me start by saying that I’m very happy for Cardi B and all of her success. I feel like she worked very hard to get where she is today and wish her nothing but the best.

With that being said, I have started to review music and movies with a little more depth to them than just saying if I like it or not. I;m giving more detail than I ever have and I think it works out great for the readers. So, let’s get to it.

Cardi B was the hottest up and coming female rapper in 2017 and wears the crown pretty good. She has proven to be a force to be reckoned with after the release of her biggest song, Bodak Yellow. She has smashed records and still remains herself even with all the fame. What’s not to love? With the release of her freshman album, Invasion of Privacy, we’ll see if the rookie can hold her own!

I believe it was Pac who said to listen to what people are saying in their songs and don’t just bob your head to the beat. He also said to hold them accountable for their words. Lyrically, the Bronx rapstress can hold her own on a feature or her own song with a feature. She has a story to tell which, although told 100 times, still doesn’t get old. What makes Cardi special is the fact that, in her rhymes, she’s still relatable. She doesn’t come off as fake, yet. For her freshman album, she gets a big thumbs up from me but will she be able to top this or is this as big as she gets.

She has some amazing beats for songs like I Like It and Drip but my personal favorite song is Best Life and Get Up 10. Who would of thought that an intro could pack such a punch. It was this line that I felt the most:

“I’ve waited my whole life just to s*&t on n!$$as, climbed to the top floor so I can spit on n!$$as.”

That’s something…. that’s a feeling that…. nothing in the world can ever replace (except a child, of course) but I felt that line because being told your whole life that all you would be good at was the negative stereotypes and to overcome that…… whew!!!!!!

As far as Best Life goes, it’s Chance the Rapper. Name one bad song that has Chance the Rapper on it! I’ll wait…. Nothing compares to that Chicago swag!
