Vic Mensa: The Autobiography

#TheAutobiography  #LoveChicago  #MondayMotivation

It dawned on me this morning as I was driving to my 9-5 that, although I am a Chicago native, I have yet to review anything in relation to Chicago. None of the artists, movies filmed here/about here, and it really bothered me. There is so much talent here and I was almost disappointed in my self that I have shown love all over the board to others but not my own city so I’ve decided to dedicate an entire section only to Chicago.

Love, Dellé

Straight from Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood hails Vic Mensa. Releasing his debut album in July 2017 under Roc Nation was definitely what the Chicago streets needed. I loved the album as a whole. Period. I can see Vic Mensa being one of the legends in hip-hop with his years to come.

The Autobiography lives up to its name as Vic takes us on a journey through his life experiences in Chicago from his first encounter with police to the loss of his brother and suicidal thoughts. He leaves his heart on every track from Heaven on Earth to We Could Be Free.  Listening to his album, Vic paints such vivid pictures of his experiences that really leave an impression on your mental. He’s not just saying words but he’s telling a story.

This album has a powerful impact from my personal opinion and I only see great things in the future for Vic Mensa.

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
