Justice League (2017)

I want to start this off by saying that I am a huge fan of the DCEU. **heavy sigh** Okay, here we go….

I started writing this review yesterday and I just wasn’t feeling it but I’m back to finish this off.

Five years after the MCU assembled the biggest heroes in their franchise to create The Avengers, the DCEU finally released the highly anticipated Justice League. The movie raked in 658M against it’s 300M budget which is very mediocre compared to its predecessors like Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Even the awful Suicide Squad put up BIG numbers in the box raking in 747M against their 175M budget. Why didn’t the DCEU hero assembly do the numbers that it should have? I’ll tell you…

This movie wasn’t that great. It was okay…

The movie is very dry and forced in my opinion. It doesn’t have that genuine flow that a movie apart of such a big franchise should. It felt almost thrown together and rushed. The movie has its great perks like watching Aquaman on screen is a plus and The Flash actually makes me smile when I see him. I think The Flash has that effect because I loved Ezra Miller in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I was so excited for the arrival of Justice League, like y’all just don’t understand. I felt like after the terrible, yet lucrative, Suicide Squad, that Wonder Woman set them up very nicely for the release of Justice League but it didn’t. If you haven’t seen it, just fast forward to the end when they bring Superman back to life, which that was forced as well. That’s the best part of the entire movie. Other than that, I guarantee, you can predict pretty much how this movie plays out without watching it. Even the villain, Steppenwolf, who is a “New God” is really a big b$#%h. He just takes boxes, with no real effort behind taking them, and cries at the end before his own Parademons kill him. WTF! I know, the Parademons can smell fear but if he’s a God then I’m not sure how fear plays a factor.

I love when Superman comes back to life. Such an epic return for the biggest part of the franchise.

Who doesn’t love each character individually, right? Aquaman is every girls fantasy of how they want their guy to be. That sexy, rugged, regal thing that he portrays on screen definitely makes this movie a lot easier to watch, let me tell you. Wonder Woman completely lives up to her name as she stands strong on her own among a group of men. I LOVE FLASH. Batman will always be Batman; I’m a hero because I want to be and my super power is that I’m rich. Yeah, that’s big bro Bruce.

Superman gets his own paragraph because he’s just good for the sake of good. He’s the kind of person that, in real life, could you honestly hate him? He’s patriotic, simple, affectionate and, even with all the power anyone could dream of, humble.

Overall, the movie was decent. It’s something I’ve seen multiple times so it does that for me.

Rating: 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
