#FlashbackFriday #friyay Toy Story Land
In honor of Toy Story Land opening at Disney World on June 30th, it’s only right that this Flashback Friday be dedicated to the 1995 blockbuster hit, Toy Story.
Who doesn’t love this movie, right? I mean, it’s Toy Story! (sighs heavily). I didn’t love this movie. I thought it was good, tho. See, here’s the thing, there’s something very disturbing about toys coming to life. As a child, it’s so magical and mysterious but as an adult, you immediately think Annabelle when you think of live toys, right? Just me? Okay, moving on…
Toy Story follows the story of Woody (Tom Hanks) who is Andy’s favorite toy and the leader of the live, but play dead when humans are around, toys. Woody finds himself fearful and jealous of a new toy, Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), that Andy gets on his birthday. **Toys have feelings in this movie. Yeah, I think that’s where I drew the line and the movie became just okay**. The other toys are impressed by Buzz, who thinks he’s a real space ranger, astronaut person thingy and the jealousy grows even more.
Overall, I do like the movie’s storyline, removing the fact that they are toys because that’s creepy to me. I can see how a “person” can feel left out, forgotten, replaced, or jealous when “someone” new comes into the picture. It’s not a good feeling when you think you may be loved less.
Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are golden together as they start off as rivals and become bestfriends by the movies end. The movie does have it’s cute perks like Little Bo Peep and it has some funny from my favorite character, Mr. Potato Head. My daughter likes the Toy Story movies so I would be okay with the making of another one just for her.
Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨(those alive toys really get me)
