Spotlight: Al Capone

Tomorrow is a special day here in Chicago πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Oh, we Chicagoans know exactly what Valentines Day means here and believe me, no flowers were involved on this day in 1929. Today I’m giving a spotlight to one of the biggest gangsters in the nation, Al Capone.

The Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre is the name given to the 1929 murder in Chicago of seven men of the North Side gang during the Prohibition Era.[2] It happened on February 14, and resulted from the struggle between the Irish American gang and the South SideItalian gang led by Al Capone to take control of organized crime in the city.[3] Former members of the Egan’s Rats gang were suspected of a significant role in the incident, assisting Capone.

Remember that this is a day of love β€οΈπŸ’œπŸ’›
