Although it took me a while to write this review, I felt as though I had to really sit down and listen to G-Eazy. The Bay rapper put everything into this album as you find yourself lost in the beats and lyrics. Now, I’m not going to lie, the first G-Eazy song I ever heard was “No Limit”. I know, sad right? But what really made me go and listen further into his music was listening to his interview on #TheBreakfastClub.
The rapper displays a lyrical skill that has been lost in hip-hop for a little while and adds a twist of rock to his ballads. I’ve listened to his album front and back at least 15 times now and I must say that there isn’t a song I don’t like. G-Eazy really gives me a “ride in the car at night while I get my thoughts together” vibe with his storytelling. To be quite honest, the young artist has put together a perfect album from beginning to end and trust me, you don’t have to skip one track.
He really out dos himself and I don’t feel like he’s a “culture vulture” whatsoever! G-Eazy may be around for a long time if he keeps producing a sound as unique, gifted, and timeless as this album! My favorites songs are Him & I, That’s A Lot, and Pray For Me!
