Singer, Camila Cabello, delivers her debut solo self-titled album, Camila and I can’t say that she set the internet ablaze but there is some spark there. The former Fifth Harmony member comes out the solo debut gate throwing light jabs, leaving you listening but saying to yourself, “she can come harder than that.”
The album itself doesn’t have a plethora of hits, given that we only get 10 real songs, but you can sip a drink and shake a little (very little) to it. She does have a few songs that I like such as Never Be the Same, Consequences and In the Dark. Although this may not be the smash album of 2018, I don’t think that we should count her out just yet. Maybe a little more vocal range and true display of sangin’ (not singing) will do the trick because she seems so restricted.
I do believe that she could have a great future in the music industry but she has to come out of her shell and give us Camila. The album doesn’t seem like she’s giving us all of her from jump even though the songwriting is amazing on the album. I’m not blown away by her album but I’m still a fan of hers.
Here is the tracklist for Camila:
- Never Be the Same
- All These Years
- She Loves Control
- Havana feat. Young Thug
- Inside Out
- Real Friends
- Something’s Gotta Give
- In the Dark
- Into It
- Never Be the Same (Radio Edit)
Rating: 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
