The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish

“Ocean of Emotions”

We all know who Tiffany Haddish is by now, right? If you don’t know, she is one of Hollywood’s newest A-List comedians and I must say she’s pretty damn funny!

Upon reading the title of the book, and I’m not sure why but, I thought that this book would be lollipops and rainbows. I figured it would be full of just jokes, her making fun of her circumstances of life, and her rise to the top. Well, she did do that and executed it very well! She finds the positive in every situation despite the hand she was dealt in life.

Her upbringing and rise to fame was no easy feat as she goes from foster care to homelessness. Even being in an abusive marriage and feeling like she wanted to give up, she found her safe haven in show business on the stage and making others laugh. The comedy stage is the only place that gives her that high of life.

This book is a roller coaster ride, for sure! Ms. Haddish does great with pulling you into her world and making you feel like you’re sitting across from her with a glass of wine while she tells her story. The book doesn’t dull at any point and although she leaves you feeling everything all at once, she does amazing at telling you her truth.

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
